Lend the Trends was one of the first designer dress hire companies on the New Zealand market, founded by Maxine Fourie in 2017 as a side hustle while studying at university.

Maxine started Lend the Trends after being frustrated with the restrictions of her own experiences with renting and hiring designer dresses at an affordable price point.

She wanted to introduce an inclusive rental business that catered to different occasions but had a variety of Australian designer labels and styles, with unique designer dresses you couldn't find anywhere else.

In 2020, after a busy three years of operation, Lend the Trends was no longer operating as just a side-gig - it quickly expanded its collection and went from renting designer dresses only to also renting festival outfits. Lend the Trends went from being an affordable designer rental boutique to a one-stop-rental shop that allowed the renter to hire for festivals and special occasions, all in one place.

Lend the Trends serviced the New Zealand market for over five years after Maxine decided to move over the ditch to Sydney, Australia, in 2022.

Lend the Trends is back on NZ soil, and proudly owned by Nicole Huggard. I'm a busy Mama to two gorgeous boys. I have a love of fashion and making women feel amazing, so this was the perfect fit for me. I get to work from home while also being a hands on Mum.
